This is the biggest street party in the world. This historic and popular event was witnessed by Charles Darwin when he was in Salvador in 1832. The Carnival in Bahia was played long before during the Portuguese rule. Bahians invented the trio elétrico, the Bahian guitar and music styles specially for the carnival.
